Elliot Moose is a children's program based on a series of books by Andrea Beck. The show centers around a moose named Elliot and his friends, Beaverton, Lionel, Socks and Paisley. Their fun and crazy adventures in The Big House (the "town" where they live) unfold over 104 episodes. The show looks at a child's view of the real world and imaginary world by featuring half of the stories as animation and the other half as live action. Each 20 minute episode is broken down into four mini-episodes, with the first and last of these mini-episodes shot in live action mode. The middle two episodes are animated. Alisa Walton and Mark Wallace (members of the award-winning program Polka Dot Shorts) lend their talent to the cast of Elliot Moose. Developed by Jed MacKay, produced by Marianne Culbert, with music by Bruce Ley and Jed MacKay, this children's program originally aired on PBS as part of the Bookworm Bunch block, where Timothy Goes to School and Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse also premiered.
